Doorways for Women and Families

I wanted to take a moment to make a quick shout-out to an outstanding Women's shelter in my area that I'm involved with.

It is called Doorways for Women and Families, and it strives to end domestic violence and homelessness in the Washington D.C. area.

Doorway's Services include:

*the Freddie Mac Foundation Family Home (provides short-term housing for homeless families)
*the Safehouse (an 11-bed home for adults and children who are in imminent danger)
*Financial Independence Track
*24-hour domestic violence hotline
*Child-focused services
*court advocacy services
*Homestart supportive housing program
